Hydromet (India) Limited [HIL], is a pioneer industry in India which was set up for the manufacture of Copper Cathodes, Copper Sulphate, Nickel Cathodes, Nickel Sulphate, Zinc Sulphate, etc… The project commenced production in the year 1997. The plant is located at Kancheepuram on the National Highway connecting Chennai to Bangalore.

The company has evolved from a family with 50 years experience in Non - Ferrous Metal Business and more than 30 years in International Trading in metals. The vast experience in trading in the various secondary raw material and the long term vision enabled the family owned business to be transformed to a corporate entity in the year 1994 when the promoters foresaw an urgent need for in - house, environmentally sound recycling solution in India for the various generators/customers it was trading with globally, besides providing the huge growth opportunity and tremendous value addition in producing finished products from the raw material already being handled, due to its strength in sourcing these raw material and above all the comfort that could be provided to the waste generators/suppliers for an end to end solution by a environmentally responsible company enabled the growth of the company into a full recycling solutions provider.

The company made a conscious effort by using the Solvent Extraction Technology for the first time in the country for successful separation of various metals which was more environmentally friendly eliminating various steps in the processing chain to achieve desired purity of finished product.
